"We do not resign ourselves to the idea that there are territories and services of series A and B".

Giorgia Meloni

speaks in front of 7 thousand mayors, of small municipalities from North to South, and takes the cue from the Italian Post Office project "Polis-House of digital services".

His words, however, have a specific political weight while the League awaits the arrival in the Council of Ministers of the bill on differentiated autonomy by Minister Roberto Calderoli.

Not surprisingly, within four hours sources from

Matteo Salvini

's party leaked that there is "absolute agreement" with the premier: "The Italians of Serie A and Serie B are here today".

Then the final clarification: "We want to unite them in the name of efficiency and autonomy".

In the background is the campaign for the

regional elections of 12-13 February,

the government's first electoral test as well as the balance in the centre-right.

Voting takes place in Lazio and Lombardy, one of the regions that has so far pushed the hardest to implement the attribution of further forms and particular conditions of autonomy.

For the League, this law has a faster process than the presidential reform, a great goal of FdI.

Beyond the launch in the CDM, this is the reasoning that is done in Forza Italia, the matter needs to be studied in depth and many additional resources are needed to put each Region on the same starting line.

Sunday 5 February

Meloni, Salvini and Silvio Berlusconi will participate together in an electoral event in Rome and on the 7th they will be together on stage in Milan

: two occasions in which every nuance on the theme will be weighed.

The League does not give up an inch, the Autonomy entrusts part of the hopes to get back on top, especially in Lombardy.

Government sources explain that Calderoli's text is not yet closed.

Overcoming the criterion of historical expenditure, and changes compared to previous drafts to emphasize the role of Parliament in defining the Lep, the essential levels of performance, are the key to avoiding imbalances between regions.

The bill on the matter should arrive on the table of the next pre-Council of Ministers, in view of the meeting of the CDM on Thursday, according to the path marked out in the government summit of 18 January.

At the time, Palazzo Chigi filtered the intention not to get too close to the Regionals to prevent such an important provision from passing as an electoral spot.

Meloni does not aim for "spot" measures, he clarified it twice in a few hours, on the eve and on his hundredth day at Palazzo Chigi: "We must not be chased by presentism", for the government "the medium term is the one to give the more effective responses".

From the metropolis to the villages with few souls, there must be "only one Italy, with equal services for all and equal rights for all".

Words in line with those of Sergio Mattarella:

"There is a growing unease - said the President of the Republic - due to the withdrawal of services that affects daily life, it would be a condition of impoverishment of our country".

Meloni also received Charles Michel at Palazzo Chigi for a meeting ahead of the European Council on the economy and migrants.

On the first dossier

, the prime minister announced that she will propose an intermediate solution between Sure and a European sovereign wealth fund.

And you underlined that "above all flexibility on existing funds" is needed, those of cohesion and the Pnrr.

The reaction to the US anti-inflation plan, he warned, cannot be just "a relaxation of the rules on state aid", which would favor countries like Germany: "The EU must protect its businesses by ensuring equal conditions for all the states".

With regard to migrants, he renewed his hope for structural European solutions

, arguing, in summary, that in terms of security a distinction must be made between internal and external migrants, for example between those from Ukraine and those from Africa.

"The commitment to Africa - said Meloni, returning from missions in Algeria and Libya - must be from all of Europe".

The president of the European Council thanked her for "the very frank cooperation, based on Italian interests but also - Michel specified - with the desire to protect the EU. When the EU is fine, Italy is fine too" .
