Surprise eggs are not only popular with children.

Some figures in the Ü-Ei are traded among collectors for up to 5,000 euros.

These are the most valuable:

The surprise egg is considered a box office hit by the manufacturer Ferrero.

The chocolate eggs filled with toys have been on the German market since 1974 - and have delighted young and old ever since.

Of course, the most coveted are the collectible figures, which are known to be found “in every 7th egg”.

Some figures from the yellow plastic eggs are even traded extremely valuable among collectors.

HEIDELBERG24 shows which treasures from the surprise egg are said to be worth several thousand euros.

Valuable surprise egg figures - the rarity determines the price

For many, it's a fond childhood memory: Standing at the Ü-Egg pallet and shaking each egg to find out which one contains the coveted collector's figure.

By the way, besides shaking, there are other tricks to make sure that you find a figure in your surprise egg.

Since the popular chocolate egg has been on the market for decades, there has already been a huge range of different collection series - from little smurfs to hippos or Disney princesses.

But which Ü-Ei figures are considered particularly valuable by collectors?

This is like most collectibles - the rarer, the more valuable.

But also very old figures or faulty productions - similar to valuable euro coins - increase the value.

As reported by rosenheim24.de (with payment barrier), a rare 2-euro coin was even sold for almost 150,000 euros.

Up to 12,000 euros: These Ü egg figures are considered to be particularly valuable

Probably the most valuable figures from the surprise egg are the Smurfs.

According to eierwiki.de, the Smurf figurines were first discovered in the yellow plastic eggs in 1979.

The night watchman smurf, the flute smurf and the vanity smurf are the most expensive among collectors (sources: top100liste.de, Focus Online):

  • The Night Watchman Smurf with his lantern can reportedly bring in up to €12,000, depending on the version.

However, the smurf figure only achieves this high value if it is a blank made of blue hard plastic on which the cap and trousers have been painted.

  • The Flute Smurf was apparently sold for over 5,000 euros in 2021 – but the version matters here too.

The figure with dark blue painting and a yellow flute is particularly valuable.

  • The value of the vanity smurf also varies depending on the version: the smurf with dark blue paintwork and a silver mirror is said to fetch more than 4,000 euros - the smurf from the pre-series made of blue basic material at least more than 3,000.

How do I find out the value of a Mystery Egg?

But not only the Smurfs from the surprise egg can bring the owner a large amount of money: The dwarf "Ferdi Fallobst", which is made of a dark base material, has a value between 2,000 and 3,500 euros, as

reported by

rtl.de.

And Asterix and Pumuckl would also be sold for tidy sums: according to the report, you can look forward to around 180 euros with Asterix, and around 100 with a Pumuckl figure without pupils.

If you want to find out whether there is actually one or two treasures among the Surprise Egg figures you have collected, you can either consult one of the catalogs that appear regularly, or find out more about the value of the Surprise Egg figure online.

There are a number of databases that you can use as a guide - for example the Eierlei.de website, which even includes the prices of figurines from the 1970s.
