The masked millionaire Andrea Tandler, who is in custody, failed with her first attempt at a prison complaint.

The Munich District Court, which issued the arrest warrant, dismissed Tandler's complaint and that of her partner Darius N., who was also in custody.

It thus confirmed the view of the Munich I public prosecutor that there was a risk of absconding.

The complaint is now moving on with the investigation files to the responsible district court in Munich I, as a spokesman for the court confirmed.

The regional court is expected to make a decision on the continuation of the detention in the next few days.

Tandler, daughter of the former CSU Minister Gerold Tandler, and her partner collected 48.3 million euros in commission in the early phase of the corona pandemic when selling masks to the Federal Ministry of Health and the states of Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia.

But then she is said to have cheated on taxation.

The public prosecutor's office apparently assumes that the duo could have evaded 10 to 15 million euros in trade tax and gift tax, which their lawyers have always firmly rejected - the presumption of innocence applies.

According to SPIEGEL information, in addition to the sensitive sentence, Tandler's close network of contacts in Switzerland played a role in the reasoning behind the risk of absconding.

Tandler not only sold the masks from the Swiss company Emix to Germany and is on first-name terms with the Emix bosses.

Swiss authorities also attributed an apartment in the posh town of Davos to the Tandler family from at least 2016 to 2019.

Accordingly, German investigators came across a transfer from 2020 to the Graubündener Kantonalbank in the amount of around 15,000 euros with the purpose "Apartment Tandler".
