(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 31 - Manufacturing activity in China rebounded in January more than a month after the end of the draconian policy of 'zero tolerance' to Covid, returning to an expansionary phase for the first time since October 2022: the PMI index rises to 50.1 compared to 47 in December and over the 49.8 expected.
Based on the data released by the National Statistics Office, the non-manufacturing PMI stands at 54.4 (it was 41.6 in December, while it is compared with the previous estimates of 52).
The upward trend in consumption and services also took advantage of the Lunar New Year holiday period (January 21-27).
