Murderous duck, dating apps and casual trolls: everything coming to TV in February | Israel today

2023-01-31T08:59:28.255Z

Plenty of new and exciting series that will arrive on TV channels and streaming services during February • From the nostalgia of "Night Court" and "Star Trek", through the crazy comic action of "Peacemaker" to dramatic comedies such as "Fleicher in Trouble" and "Little Sister" - There's no way you won't find something to watch • Series Recommender - the monthly series guide

February 1

"Holiday under fire" (HOT, yes)

This luxury resort in the Canary Islands is all inclusive.

Also a merciless terrorist attack, which puts three families in the crosshairs.

This British mini-series from the BBC has only three episodes, but they are all full of distilled and nerve-wracking tension.

And if the action itself is not enough for you, there are always the family intrigues, betrayals and secrets that are revealed at exactly the most inopportune time.

Imagine a soap opera with bullets instead of bubbles.

Keely Hughes ("Spooks") stars as Jo, a former police officer and current security consultant, who is vacationing in Toma with her family when the nightmare begins.

How fortunate that she is more than worthy of giving a fitting fight to the forces of evil.

"Star Trek: Picard" - Season 3 (Amazon Prime)

With one hand on the heart (and the other hand clutching our trusty phaser pistol), the first two seasons of Star Trek: Picard were mediocre at best, and deeply disappointing at worst.

Still, the creators of the sequel to "Star Trek: The Next Generation", which of course focuses on Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), promise that its third and final season will meet all the expectations of the frustrated Turks.

why?

Because this time it really is a farewell to the legendary Enterprise crew, when all the stars of the "next generation" join Picard for the final mission.

And yes, we're really talking about everyone: Jonathan Frakes (Will Riker), LeVar Burton (Geordie La Forge), Michael Doran (Worf), Gates McFadden (Beverly Kresher), Marina Sirtis (Diana Troy) and Brent Spiner ( who plays Lore, the "brother" of the android Data).

All of these, plus a few guest appearances, will appear in the new season in large and significant roles, and if we rely on the impressive trailer - it seems that we really have reached the "Final Frontier".

Just what's the deal with Worf suddenly becoming a pacifist?

Will the militant Klingon become his comrades?

February 19

"Peacemaker" (yes)

Granted, no one yet knows what will become of the faltering DC Cinematic Universe now that creator James Gunn has taken command of it.

Still, the action series "Peacemaker", a spinoff of John Cena's character from the movie "Suicide Squad" (directed by Gunn), is considered one of the most successful works in this world, as it combines violent and crazy action with equally crazy comedy, witty writing and even A bit of touching drama.

So what's new?

Well, after recovering from the injuries he sustained in the "Suicide Squad", the seemingly benevolent assassin Peacemaker (Sina) is recruited by the government for a secret project aimed at eliminating creatures that impersonate humans.

Because admit it, you wouldn't sleep well if you found out that your postman/psychologist/boss is, well, a creature.

Another reason to watch: because of all the projects in the current DC cinematic universe, "Peacemaker" is the only one currently renewed for another season.

The investment will pay off, responsibly.

February 21

"Little Sister" (HOT, yes)

Kiwi is strictly kosher.

"Little Sister" is a New Zealand comedy series (!) that deals with Lola (Jewish comedian Simone Nathan) - a Jewish girl who reaches the age of thirty without getting married.

Oh God, what will they say in the community?

So that she won't be bullied too much, Lola invents for herself a Jewish partner that no one has met (because he doesn't exist), but in the meantime maintains a romantic relationship with a failed musician, childish and... gentile.

Gweld squared.

And we haven't even touched on her traditional family, which also has no shortage of tricks and tricks.

We will meet in the sukkah.

February 22

"Flysman in Trouble" (Disney +)

Just as Dr. Toby Fleischmann, a newly divorced man in his early forties, discovers the world of app dating (and all the casual sex that comes with it), his ex-wife Rachel disappears, leaving him with their two young children.

So what happened to Rachel?

How will Fleishman manage to meet women when he is completely busy with work and functions as a full-time father?

Trouble indeed, but this spoken word drama mini-series should answer those questions for us.

With a particularly impressive cast that includes Jesse Eisenberg as Mr. Fleischmann, Claire Danes as his ex-wife Rachel, and Lizzie Kaplan and Adam Brody as two of the bewildered Doctor's best friends (as well as guest appearances from How I Met Mother's Christian Slater and Josh Randor "), you will get here one of the most intriguing and intimate productions of the winter.

February 22

"Shipwrecked" (HOT, yes)

Who murders the passengers of the luxury cruise ship?

Not who you thought, that's for sure.

This British thriller-horror-comedy series from the BBC is about Jimmy (Oscar Kennedy), a guy who joins the ship's crew to investigate the death of his sister - who apparently committed suicide - but he knows there's no way she took her own life.

Wave after wave, and then also all the dark secrets, the horrifying lies and so we don't know troubles, the evil forces, float above the surface.

Go find out where this winding plot will be anchored.

Oh, and hello to the murderous duck in the raincoat. Totally real, what's more, the series has already been renewed for a second season.

February 26

"Bin Din Lilly" (yes)

Think our justice system is turbulent?

Wait until you watch "Night Court", the sequel/reboot series to the legendary comedy from the eighties, which was launched earlier this month in the US and is receiving tremendous acclaim there. We have watched the first three episodes and we can testify (get it?) that this acclaim is justified.

In any case, fans of the original series will be happy to see Melissa Rauch (Bernard from "The Big Bang") play the daughter of Judge Harry Stone, who colorfully runs (just like her father) the detention court in Manhattan - on the illusory night shift, of course.

In other words, the hammer didn't fall far from the tree.

Unfortunately, the only actor from the original cast returning to the new series is the slick prosecutor Dan Fielding (John LaRocket the Mighty), only this time - note this - he's switching sides and joining the public prosecutor's office.

Don't worry, he still steals the show.

May their honor continue.

repeated and equal

The 15th season of "Philadelphia Shining" will premiere on Disney+ on February 1;

The fifth and final season of "A Million Little Things" will hit yes on February 9;

The 12th season of "NCIS: Los Angeles" will launch on yes on February 16;

The tenth season of "The Blacklist" will land on yes on February 28;

The fourth and final season of "Kill Eve" will also arrive on yes on February 28;

The fifth season of "Yellowstone" is expected to air on Cellcom TV during February.

Pleasant binges.
