The first phase of the renewed cinematic universe of the comic company will include 10 new projects, including a prequel series for the character of Wonder Woman • Also announced: a new movie for Superman, a movie centered on Batman and Robin - and even a dark horror movie

After many months of speculation and guesswork, director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran presented yesterday (Tuesday) the first phase in the renewed cinematic universe of the DC comic company.

(the DCU), which will be called "Gods and Monsters".

On the agenda are 10 new projects for cinema and television, which will all be connected to each other in one way or another.

• Unlocks everything: the docu about Pamela Anderson could change her life

• Graphic nude scenes, brutal killings and severe promiscuity: the film that shocked the Sundance Film Festival

• Anti-Semitic and embarrassing: this film is simply an outrage

The presented projects will begin to land on the screens during 2025, among which you can find "Superman: Legacy", the script of which will be written by Gunn himself (and which will not star Henry Cavill, who played the Man of Steel in the last decade);

"The Brave and the Bold", a "father and son" story centered on Batman and Robin;

"Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow", which will deal with the female version of Superman for the first time since the 80s;

As well as an animated series in the style of "Suicide Squad" called "Creature Commandos" (which will also be written by Gunn, who directed and wrote the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy) and a spin-off series to "Peacemaker" called "Waller", which will deal with the character of Amanda Waller (which she will continue played by Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis).

Gunn and Sepran also introduced "Lanterns," a series described as "true detective" in space, centered on several versions of the Green Lantern character, who solve intergalactic mysteries;

"Paradise Lost", a prequel series to "Wonder Woman" (without the involvement of Gal Gadot, who was recently announced that the production of the superheroine's third film was stopped), which will take place on the Amazon island where Diana Prince was born (and which is influenced by "Game of Thrones");

As well as a dark horror film that will focus on the character of Swamp Thing and a film that will be based on "The Authority", a classic comic book series by Warren Ellis ("Preacher"), centered on a group of superheroes who are not interested in moral laws.

According to Gunn Wesfern, the DC Cinematic Universe.

It is expected to undergo a reboot with "Flash" starring Ezra Miller, which is expected to be released this summer.

The two also mentioned that there are several more films of the company that are planned to be released even before the first phase of their program officially begins (including "Shahzam 2" and "Aqua Man 2").

 In the meantime, the two reassured the many fans and emphasized that in addition to all the films and series presented, there will also be other projects that will take place outside the DCU, such as "Batman 2" starring Robert Pattinson (which will be released in October 2025) and "Joker 2", starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga (to be a musical).

See you again in 2025.
