(ANSA) - MILAN, 01 FEB - "We are able to manage him calmly and guarantee him everything he needs".
This is what they say from Opera, the Milanese prison where the day before yesterday Alfredo Cospito was transferred, the anarchist who has been on a hunger strike for 105 days to protest against the 41 bis to which he is subjected and, more generally, against the disposition which in Italy introduced the hard prison.
From what was known this morning, Cospito was also visited by the doctor of the Integrated Assistance Service, a prison facility on the outskirts of Milan where he is located and where, as required by 41 bis, he is monitored 24 hours a day
. Parameters defined as normal.
As it turns out, his physical conditions, although he has also begun to refuse supplements (he instead continues with drug therapy), do not require any transfer to an external hospital - in this case to the penitentiary medicine department of the San Paolo - as his parameters are still in the norm.
The 55-year-old, like all those on hunger strike in prison, will be subjected to daily visits.
At the moment, in addition to the sugar requested upon his entrance, he would not have made any other requests.
