A TikTok video is currently causing enthusiasm and many discussions.

You can see super juicy oranges - which can never be real.

Or?

The video of the super juicy oranges is not new.

It pops up on TikTok again and again and causes a wide variety of reactions.

In the clip, in this case by user @love_fruitss, you can see an orange on the tree covered in a white powder.

The fruit is cut open and then the juice squeezed out.

This seems to flow out of the orange for a long time.

In the almost 40,000 comments, discussions sometimes break out as to whether the clip was edited or whether a trick was used when recording it.

Are the oranges real now?

@love_fruitss OMG 😱 so juicy again 🍊😋 #usa #fruit #asmr ♬ 原聲 - Fruits Love🍉🍒🥝🥥

"More juice than in a pack of orange juice" - what is behind the viral super fruits?

Apparently you have to go back a little here, another TikTok user knows: @amyy.ang explains in a video that the original orange clip probably comes from the Chinese TikTok, Douyin.

And the Asian region is also the home of the super fruits.

According to @amyy.ang, they originally come from Japan and are called Ehime Jelly Orange there.

A cross between a tangerine and an orange, they are said to taste more like a tangerine, albeit a fair bit more sour.

The flesh is so soft that it resembles jelly, hence the name jelly orange.

However, they are now sold and cultivated in both Japan and China.

Does the powder make the oranges so juicy?

no

It's not entirely clear what exactly the powder that covers the fruit at the beginning of the video is.

However, many users suspect that it is lime or kaolin, a spray made of clay and water.

The whitish layer is intended to protect the fruit from sunburn and pests.

It is agreed that the powder has nothing to do with the juice itself.

"What I expect from my 50 cent orange" - the network loves the juice oranges

Even if we will hardly ever see oranges in this country, maybe they can be grown from seed just as well as the apple tree.

With normal oranges, planting works well after all.

And until then, the TikTok users have to continue to express their enthusiasm online and dream a bit of fruity wanderlust:

Normally you need two to three oranges for a glass of orange juice.

Do you need less oranges with the super juicy Ehime Jelly?

  • "What I expect from my 50 cent orange."

  • "What I would do to be able to eat such an orange one day"

  • "This is juice with orange 🤣"

  • "I want to eat this now and by now I mean now"

  • "It's giving me summer vibes right now - I need them urgently!"

If nothing helps, you just have to improvise and maybe make yourself some delicious orange jelly or jam.

It's not as sour either - like the super fruits are supposed to be.
