(ANSA) - MILAN, FEBRUARY 02 - "We are very satisfied with how we ended 2022: given the situation, it is very positive".
This was stated by Pier Silvio Berlusconi, managing director of Mediaset, regarding the group's accounts which will be officially approved in the spring.
His judgment refers "in particular to the bottom line", i.e. that of profit, explains Pier Silvio Berlusconia when asked if we are talking only about revenues or the accounts for the year as a whole.
"In June we saw a significant drop and we intervened with a further cut in costs, but with the World Cup in Qatar (broadcast by Rai, Ed.) we found a budget identical to that of the previous year", adds the CEO.
"We are long-term shareholders" and, after the launch of the merger with Mediaset Espana, which is largely controlled, "today we cannot speak of a merger with Prosieben", adds Pier Silvio Berlusconi, with the Biscione holding almost 30% of the German group and which it is also converting the portion held in derivatives into shares.
"Now the collaboration with the management seems better", adds the CEO of Mediaset in a press conference on the digital development of the group, "but the political exploitation for our presence in Germany is very strong. We are always referred to as Silvio Berlusconi's group, even if I ensure that my father certainly does not deal with Prosiebene, not even with television in Italy", concludes Pier Silvio Berlusconi.
