TMZ reports today that the 55-year-old Bewitched star sent a private message today to the singer, who until a few months ago was under guardianship under her father, in which she apologizes for the tweet that read: "Someone please check what's up with Britney Spears."
In addition to the apology, Milan also sent a message of support to Spears.
The not-very-stable singer published in a story that appeared yesterday (Wednesday) on her Instagram page: "It saddens me to see things written about me by people who don't know me!!! It absolutely feels like bullying!!! Women, we are supposed to take care of each other and not download one by one!!!".

It is not clear what caused her to respond to that tweet, which was published almost three months ago, and also what was the reason for the tweet itself.
On the day the tweet was posted, Spears posted three videos from Mexico, where she and her husband, Sam Asgeri, went on vacation for Britney's 40th birthday.
The singer's fans raised concerns for her safety, claiming that the content she published was "old" and that although she said she was going to New York, no paparazzi photos of her from there were published.
All of these joined a video that was uploaded and deleted since then, in which the singer is seen making a movement with her hand that was interpreted by the fans as a call for help.
This is not the first time, of course, that fans express concern for the well-being of the singer, who now calls herself River Red on her Instagram account.
Last month, police were called to the singer's home to check on her after she deleted her Instagram account for the umpteenth time.
