In Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, an infant was left in a shopping bag on a street.
The police said that a woman found the child on her way home on Sunday evening.
As a result, the 60-year-old noticed a green shopping bag in front of an apartment building in her residential area, in which the newborn child was.
The boy is doing well, the police said on Friday.
The baby was reportedly wrapped in blankets and sheets.
There was a handwritten note asking to put the baby in the baby hatch.
The woman brought the baby to her apartment and called the emergency services.
The child was then taken to a hospital.
The police are now looking for the person who parked the baby in front of the house.
She is also looking for witnesses who could give clues to the green shopping bag.
