Lucio's crime: the audios, the contradictions and the mother's wish to "disappear", months before the crime

2023-02-03T17:30:32.470Z

According to the prosecution, for the couple the baby was "a nuisance" in the relationship they both had and a reason for a fight.

Pending

the sentencing of Abigail Páez (28) and Magdalena Espósito Valenti (25) for the crime of Lucio Dupuy (5),

in the last few hours more information was released about the child's crime and the trial, for which his mother and her partner were found guilty.

During the hearings

, the sexual abuse suffered by the minor was also investigated.

This point was corroborated by the prosecution based on different evidence.

It was even proven that the same day of the crime the baby had been abused.

Due to the delicate nature of this point, the sessions were held behind closed doors and without access to the press.

Once finished, some of the testimonies of both defendants began to leak, in which they recounted the day of the crime and their repentance for the fact.

One of them was that of Abigail Páez, a partner of the child's mother.

It was she who was with Lucio at the time he was dying.

"When I arrived, I saw Lucio and he was sending a snot

. I took him by the arm and kicked him in the tail several times

. It was all very fast, I hit him and I didn't measure where I don't even know why. I can't find him an explanation. I know I hurt him, I realized at the moment. I tried to remedy it, I picked him up and took him to the shower and I thought he was going to react, he tried to speak to me but the words did not come out, "he narrated.

The woman continued the testimony, in which she was heard with a broken voice.

"As I saw that he was fading, I took him out of the shower, I tried to change him. I didn't know how to react to get him together. I heard a knock and I saw that he was on the floor, without reaction. He was like fainting, so out of fear

I touched him with the foot to see if he reacted and had no response

. I approached him, I turned him over, I put him on his back, I tried to do CPR, I don't know if I hurt him more with that, "he added.

"

I didn't want to kill him, I got angry because he was

shitting, he lived shitting like any baby. We didn't live shitting with sticks as they say around there, he had a normal and happy life," he argued.

However, the prosecution maintains otherwise.

Verónica Ferrero, La Pampa gender prosecutor and one of those responsible for the investigation, maintained after the sentence that Lucio

"was a source of satisfaction" for the couple

, who subjected him to beatings, abuse and even used him to receive money from Alimony or money that they asked the father's family to see him.

"The two of them

beat and abused Lucio Dupuy constantly

and then they agreed on how to hide it. Not taking him to the garden, to the doctor, not letting the relatives see, isolating the child. They were able to continue with the chronic attacks," he commented. in dialogue with Radio con Vos.

The prosecutor also revealed that there are about 16,000 expert messages on the phones of both women during the year that Lucio lived with them.

From them it is clear how annoying it was for both of them.

They blamed him for the relationship problems they both had.

They said they were giving him up for adoption.

They even

fantasized "make it disappear."

This is how it was recorded in a chat on October 18, 2021, which is included in the case.

Magdalena Espósito Valenti: I would love for us to be alone again like in Córdoba.

And if Lucio prevents our relationship from flowing, I'm not going to allow it.

Because

I don't care as much as you do.

And if I defend him or get in the way sometimes it's only because he's 5 years old and he can't defend himself.

Abigail Páez: In law and talk to a judge and

give it up for adoption.

Magdalena Espósito Valenti: I just try not to think about it.

Because honestly it hurts me.

It puts me in an awkward situation that I don't want to be in.

I wish I could make it disappear.

Abigail Páez: Ha, yes I have thought about it.
