(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 03 - The new Procurement Code "is a positive revolution, which however must serve mayors and businesses".

So, "if someone needs a few more months, it's not a problem".

This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, when asked about the timing of the entry into force of the provision, in light of the requests to postpone the implementation of the measures.

"If companies and mayors ask us to have a little more time to study it, deepen it and enhance it, I consider myself the minister at their disposal. So we will think about it, obviously we also have to think about it with Europe", adds Salvini, on the sidelines of an event on the Procurement Code organized by the order of accountants of Miano.

"

"We also envisage integrated procurement as an aid to small municipalities", adds Salvini.

This means that "if one does not have a municipal surveyor or engineer to do the project, the company will do it and carry out the work".

With this new Code, "we have also raised the threshold for direct assignment to small municipalities up to 500 thousand euros, therefore, we will not be able to go faster than that".
