Reese Witherspoon has a few misadventures from the time of her first steps in the cinema.
On the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Thursday, February 2, the actress notably mentioned one of her first auditions for the film

, released in 1991, with Robert de Niro.
The one who didn't get the role explained how her stress took over that day.
"I'm not in this movie because I was too scared when I entered the room," she told host Jimmy Kimmel.

The actress, aged only 14 at the time, explained that one of the receptionists had revealed to her a few minutes before entering the audition room which actor was going to find herself in front of her.
"I didn't know who Robert De Niro was.
She said to me, "You know he's the most important actor of our time, don't you?"
And to continue: “I was 14 years old.
I had never seen The
Goodfellas
or
The Godfather
.
It totally blew me away.”
Thus, Reese Witherspoon confided that he lost all his confidence once in front of the actor, revealing that the latter had to finish his lines during the audition.

And the story between the two stars does not end there.
Ten years later the star of
Big Little Lies
found himself again facing the juggernaut of cinema during a second audition.
Without revealing the film in question, the latter remembered this new embarrassing meeting.
"I thought he would never remember that failed audition," she added.
But he was like, "I remember you."
I replied, "Me?"
And he was like, 'Yeah. You couldn't say your line.'

During the show Reese Witherspoon also made some confidences about her debut as a trainee in the cinema.
