Finishing her studies, becoming a doctor: these were Juliette Lamour's plans for the future, 18, from Ontario, Canada.

And they still are.

Even though Juliette has recently become a multiple millionaire.

Lamour won CA$48 million in a lottery draw in January.

A check for the incredible sum was presented to her at an Ontario Lottery event on Friday.

There she told the BBC that this was her very first lottery ticket.

Originally, she completely forgot that she took part in the draw.

Until she heard on the news that someone from her hometown had won.

Then she checked her app, saw the words "Big Winner" - and started crying: "Tears of happiness, of course."

The student now wants to invest the winnings "carefully" and enable herself to study and pursue a career in medicine without taking out a loan.

As a doctor, she wants to give something back to the community, Lamour is quoted as saying.
