This Friday, the organizers of the EuroMillions (including the Française des jeux for France) offered, in addition to the traditional jackpot – which amounted to 17 million euros – a “rain of millionaires”.
The concept ?
To win one million euros for 100 players drawn at random from all those who have purchased a ticket.
In a few seconds, no less than 25 people have therefore become millionaires in France, according to a count made by the specialized media Tirage-Gagnant.com.
A figure in slight decline since last year, this special operation had rewarded 28 players in the country.
30 UK winners
The inhabitants of the United Kingdom were luckier, since 30 people won a million euros across the Channel, thus dethroning the first place occupied by France last year.
Spain arrives on the third step of the podium with 17 winners.
In addition to France, eight other countries and four territories participate in EuroMillions: Austria, Belgium, Spain, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, United Kingdom and Switzerland, plus Andorra, Liechtenstein, the Isle of Man and Monaco.
