His Institute, like many Italian schools, has opened its doors to children and young people fleeing the war that broke out in Ukraine.
Among the children welcomed by the school attended by Alexander there is also Sasha, who arrived in Italy with his mother and his two-year-old brother, after hastily abandoning the Ukrainian town where he lived, bombed by Russian missiles.
On the first day of school in Italy, Sasha found Alexander welcoming him, together with other children, who improvised as a cultural mediator to promote
introduction of the new friend and classmate.
The two children immediately became inseparable, sharing many interests.

At school, his behavior is commendable: during the lockdown period, he generously made his computer skills available to his classmates, developed to deal with the disease, to help them in remote lessons.
Alessandro Cuomo, 28/5/2004, residing in Rome - For the civic sense shown in giving prompt help to a lady, victim of a theft.
He bravely chased after the two thieves, helped to bring one of them to justice and managed to return the stolen wallet to the victim.
The lady had withdrawn money from the ATM, had been followed by the thieves, who with a ruse had first accosted her on the sidewalk, then deftly managed to steal her wallet.
Alessandro was near his high school.
At the cries for help he did not hesitate to go to the rescue of the victim.

Tommaso was on the school bus on his way home when the driver fell ill.
Luckily, before losing consciousness he was able to drive the bus to the side of the road.
Tommaso, with great lucidity and promptness, managed to open the doors of the school bus and get all the children out of the bus, safely.
He then asked for help from a family who lived nearby, completing the task of rescuing his companions, himself and the driver, who could thus be rescued.

The maturity and patience with which everyone was able to adapt their behavior to the needs of their classmate, interacting with him without depending on the mediation of adults, allowed the child to fully integrate into the life of the class.
It was a beautiful story of solidarity, which generated friendship, enriched and made all the boys grow.

The three students, completely spontaneously and using their free time, conceived and implemented a project aimed at teaching the Italian language to Ukrainian children, adopting a facilitated teaching method with explanatory slides and lessons in English, Russian and Italian.

Before the pandemic, Igor welcomed his classmates and professors into his home once a week.
The pandemic has changed some things, but it hasn't been able to stop Igor's desire to learn: thanks to the remote lessons, he has managed to continue his studies with commitment and perseverance and his classmates have continued to communicate with him through videos, messages and emails .
Despite the difficulties, Igor is for everyone an example of strength, tenacity, determination and will to live.
