Another police officer has been fired after the killing of African American Tire Nichols in Memphis, Tennessee.
The officer concerned violated the rules on the use of Taser pistols, among other things, the police said on Friday.
The victim is white.
So far, only five black police officers have been fired and charged.
Police officers brutally beat Nichols during an evening traffic stop in Memphis on January 7th.
The 29-year-old died three days later in a hospital.
The five black police officers fired as a result have already been charged with second-degree murder.
In Tennessee, this corresponds to an intermediate stage between murder and manslaughter.
Like the victim, the five men are African American.
In contrast, the officer who has now been fired is a white man.
According to video footage, he was there when Nichols was stopped for a traffic stop.
However, he was not one of the police officers who pursued the 29-year-old after an attempt to escape and brutally beat him up.
