“It's terrible, nobody puts out the fire.
It's ruining our lives.
It is the general despair in the center of Chile.
For the past few days, residents have had to fight forest fires triggered by rising temperatures: up to 40°C in some places.
These fires which had initially started in the forests and the agricultural areas quickly spread to the inhabited areas.
Some regions have been placed in a state of disaster, 40,000 ha have already gone up in smoke.
Today, the authorities identify more than fifty fires out of control, as you can see in our video above.
President Gabriel Boric went there and notably visited an accommodation where victims are treated.
