a drunk father gave the wheel to his 11-year-old son
, who ended up flipping the family van.
It happened this Friday afternoon at the access to the Santa Paula area,
north of the city of Mar del Plata
and in the vicinity of Laguna de los Padres, an area of farms with dirt streets attached to provincial route 226.
According to the minor's own account, it was
his father who gave him the driving of the
Toyota Hilux truck because he could not drive because he
had taken too much
.
The boy lost control when he got too close to a ditch and
the vehicle ended up overturning
on its side.
"We had already seen the boy circulate through the neighborhood with the truck. And when the police approached because of the rollover, the same boy was the one who said he was driving," said a neighbor who closely followed the events, in statements to portal

The traffic inspectors who arrived at the scene of the incident performed a breathalyzer test on the 30-year-old father of the child, and confirmed that he
had 1.43 grams of alcohol per liter of blood

In addition to ending up with the hijacked vehicle, the man was detained by officers from the Sierra de Los Padres police station.
The case was submitted for evaluation by the Municipality of Mar del Plata and the National Road Safety Agency (ANSV), which jointly
resolved to suspend the man's driver's license
and require him to perform a psychophysical examination to determine his aptitude at the wheel.
In addition to these measures, the man will be denounced in the Family Court on duty, so that his environment can be evaluated and work on the protection of the minor.

This week, the ANSV released two videos in which children under the age of 10 can be seen driving through the streets of the cities of Río Grande and Córdoba.
In one of the videos, a boy drives through the streets of Río Grande, in Tierra del Fuego, while his father films him with his right hand and takes the wheel with his left so that his son holds it upright.
The other video, recorded by the driver of another vehicle, shows a taxi driver carrying his son on his lap and handing him the steering wheel.

A few days before, a driver of bus line 343 had been suspended by the ANSV after a passenger recorded him driving with a child on his lap.
As a result of the sanction, he will have to take another psychophysical examination so that the authorities can assess whether he can be granted a driving license.
