Armie Hammer had been quiet since mid-2021.

The US actor, best known for his leading role in the romantic film "Call Me By Your Name", had been accused of abuse by several women at the time.

His agency parted ways with him, and he withdrew from a number of film projects, including the production of "Shotgun Wedding" with Jennifer Lopez.

Hammer has now admitted that he emotionally abused his partners.

He denies criminal behavior, all sexual acts were consensual.

"I led a very intense and extreme lifestyle," Hammer told the Air Mail digital newsletter.

»I grabbed these women, took them into this whirlwind of travel, sex, drugs and big emotions.

As soon as I was done with them, I just dropped them and moved on to the next woman, leaving that woman feeling abandoned or used.”

Hammer said he was sexually abused by his youth pastor for nearly a year when he was 13 years old.

According to "Air Mail", this was confirmed by his godmother.

The experience eventually led to his interest in BDSM.

The abuse brought sexuality into his life "in a way that was completely out of my control," he told the newsletter.

»I was powerless in this situation.

I had no control over it.

My interest afterwards was: I want to be in control of the situation, sexually.«

In January 2021, the House of Effie Twitter and Instagram channels showed unverified screenshots of alleged text messages by Hammer, in which he expressed fantasies of abuse and cannibalism, among other things.

In addition, allegations by various women against Hammer were collected and published there.

In interviews, an ex-girlfriend reported that the actor branded her with his initials and then licked her blood.

Another woman accused him of brutally raping her for more than four hours in 2017.

At the time, the Hollywood actor rejected all allegations of abuse through his lawyer, one of the women had previously sent him a text message with explicit sexual requests.

Speaking to Air Mail, Hammer again denied any criminal misconduct.

In each of his sexual encounters and in each phase, he asked for and received consent.

"Every single thing was discussed beforehand," he says.

'I've never pushed anything unexpectedly on anyone.

Never.« That is »a very important part of the BDSM world«.

However, the "power relationship" in the relationships had been disrupted: "I dated these younger women in their mid-twenties and I'm in my thirties.

At the time I was a successful actor.

They might have been happy to be with me and might have said yes to things they might not have said yes to on their own."

He is now a healthier, happier and more balanced person

“I'm here to own up to my mistakes and accept responsibility for the fact that I was an asshole.

That I was selfish, that I used people to make me feel better," Hammer said.

Two years after the allegations were made, he was a healthier, happier and more balanced person and grateful for his recovery.

In February 2021 he had thoughts of suicide in the sea off the Cayman Islands, "then I realized that my children were still on land and that I couldn't do that to them".

Armie Hammer is a father of two children, he and his wife divorced in the summer of 2020 after ten years of marriage.

In February 2021, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) opened a sexual assault investigation against Hammer.

At the request of the Guardian, the authority has not yet given any public updates on the status of the investigation.

In February 2022, the film »Death on the Nile«, a sequel to »Murder on the Orient Express«, starring Kenneth Branagh, Gal Gadot and Hammer in one of the leading roles, was released in German cinemas.

Hammer was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2017 for his role in Call Me By Your Name.
