(ANSA) - MILAN, 05 FEB - "Like all cases of this kind, we continue monitoring with the utmost attention".


   Thus the president of the Surveillance Court of Milan, Giovanna Di Rosa, on Alfredo Cospito, the FAI exponent who since last Monday at the clinical center of the Milanese prison of Operae who has been carrying out a hunger strike for 109 days, recently exacerbated by refusal to take supplements, to protest against the 41 bis.


    Should his physical conditions worsen and become incompatible with detention, he will be transferred to the penitentiary medicine department of the San Paolo hospital.

From what has become known, in recent days, the books and writings he had with him when he arrived from the Sassari penitentiary were returned to him and which were subjected to checks upon his entry into the Milanese institute.

As for the social hours required by law, the 55-year-old is spending them together with three members of organized crime who, like him, are subjected to the harsh prison regime and are in a cell in the Integrated Assistance Service pavilion.

Instead, due to his compromised health, he cannot leave the structure to take a walk outside and get some fresh air.
