Who can create a living will?
A living will should be drawn up by all consumers as a precautionary measure.
"Regardless of your age or state of health, you can suddenly find yourself in a situation in which you can no longer make decisions about medical treatment or medical intervention," writes the Federal Ministry of Justice.

But how much does it cost to create a living will?
That depends: is it issued by a notary or is a general practitioner consulted?
A living will can even be drawn up without external help - there may then be problems with the validity.
The notarization of a living will is probably the safest way to ensure the correctness of the document - costs are incurred.
If you have your living will certified or notarized by a notary, you have to pay at least 60 euros plus VAT.
The living will can also be drawn up by a lawyer.
Under certain circumstances, legal protection insurance will cover the costs if the order is drawn up by a lawyer.

How much does a living will cost at the family doctor?
Anyone who prefers to have their family doctor draw up their living will often does not get away with it without additional costs.
A 30-minute consultation also costs around 60 euros.
However, this guidance can help consumers understand the terms and phrases that may be difficult to understand in an advance directive.
A consultation with the family doctor is usually not covered by the health insurance companies - consumers have to pay for the costs themselves.

In any case, a living will does not become valid through certification by a notary or a consultation with a doctor, but through your own signature.
