"I'm 21 years old and I have a 15-year-old daughter" (TIKTOK/@HUNTERENELSON)
23-year-old Hunter Nelson is the mother of a 17-year-old teenage girl and the very close age gap between them makes them a kind of sisters.
In fact, they are really sisters too.
We will explain soon.
Less than two years ago, Nelson shared her extraordinary story in a video that garnered more than 8 million views and thousands of comments from horrified viewers.
She said: "I drive down the road and realize I'm 21 years old with a 15-year-old girl. No parent or teacher at her high school will take me seriously. People already ask what grade I'm in when I go to her events. How will I teach her to drive when I can barely get on the road? I like to think too much."

So no, Nelson didn't give birth to her daughter Gracie when she was 6. She explained in the video that she is actually her half-sister and that she filed for guardianship of her after both of her parents died (their co-father died in 2015 and the girl's mother in 2020).

She explained in the video: "I didn't give birth when I was 6 years old. I applied for guardianship of my sister a few months ago... I felt that the best way to keep my sister safe, happy and to meet all her needs and desires is for her to come live with me."
When it was learned that Grace, originally from North Carolina, was facing being handed over to a foster family, Nelson petitioned the court for guardianship.
"It's 100% legal," she stated in the video.

Becoming an overnight parent to her little sister sparked family drama.
In another video, Nelson told how she received death threats from Gracie's relatives on the mother's side, who did not want her to receive rights to her.
Gracie's aunt even hired a lawyer in an attempt to thwart her request for custody.
Nelson also said that Gracie herself initially opposed the move.
"Gracie didn't want to come with me," she confessed in the video alongside Gracie, "she refused and I thought she was going to kill herself in the bathroom. She was very angry with me."
However, Nelson added, after her mother's death, Gracie lived in an unsanitary and abusive environment, so she did everything she could to adopt her: "I felt I was doing what was best for her, even if it was very difficult for both of us."

Gracie advised others who might find themselves in a similar situation to always think of the best interests of the child: "They might not be happy about it, but you just have to do it."
