A drone exploded this morning near Kaluga, a Russian city about 180 kilometers southwest of Moscow

.

The governor, Vladislav Shapsha, reports it on his Telegram channel.

The aircraft, specified Shapsha, quoted by the Ria Novosti news agency, exploded at an altitude of 50 meters at 5 in the morning (3 am Italian time) in a forest near the city without causing any deaths or injuries.

Other similar episodes had occurred last October.

A drone exploded when it crashed into an airport and a week later another was shot down by Russian air defenses in the south of the region.

In both cases, according to local authorities, no damage or casualties had been reported.

Meanwhile, the Moscow Foreign Ministry announced that

Russian forces today captured the village of Nikolayevka, in the Ukrainian oblast of

Donetsk

.

"Volunteers from the assault units with the support of rocket and artillery fire liberated the settlement of Nikolayevka," said ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov.

Rafael Grossi, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), will visit Moscow this week

.

This was announced by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

With Grossi, Ryabkov underlined, quoted by the RIA Novosti agency, the Russian authorities expect to have an in-depth and professional conversation on the establishment of a safety zone around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine, controlled by Moscow forces.

Ukraine does not intend to make any negotiating concessions or truces with Moscow

: this is Kiev's position according to what presidential adviser Miykhailo Podolyak writes on his Telegram channel.

"Any concession - writes Zelensky's adviser - is a capitulation and we will not tolerate it under any circumstances. A temporary truce will only lead to the next phase of the war in Ukraine".

   Instead,

the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky could arrive in Brussels in the coming days to participate in person in an extraordinary session of the plenary meeting of the European Parliament

.

This is what ANSA learned from European sources.

"There is an open invitation to Brussels for President Volodymyr Zelensky".

This is what EU Council spokesman Barend Leyts explains about the hypothesis that the Ukrainian president will arrive in Brussels on Thursday, coinciding with the European Council.

The reference to the open invitation to Zelensky, explains Leyts, is "the only comment" possible in this regard.

There will be no changes in the top leadership of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry this week.

This was stated on his Telegram channel by David Arakhamia, head of parliament of the Servant of the People party of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to Arakhamia, however, this week the new interior minister and the new head of the SBU, the intelligence services of Kiev, will be appointed.

Yesterday Arakhamia himself said that the head of military intelligence Kyrylo Budanov would be appointed as the new defense minister to replace Oleksiy Reznikov
