During a meeting held at the Ministry of Construction and Housing, it was decided that the establishment of the Yatir settlement will be promoted in the near future.
The Yatir settlement is located in the Tamar Regional Council and is located next to the Yatir Forest, about 500 families are expected to live in the settlement on an area of about 800 dunams.
At the meeting which was led by Minister Yitzhak Goldknopf, and the CEO of his office, Yehuda Morgenstern, and with the participation of the professionals in his office, the head of the Tamar local council, Nir Wagner, representatives of the local Chabad nucleus were also present, which the settlement division approved for them to stay at the place in a temporary camp.
This is a group of families of young Chabad people who immigrated to Israel in recent years, as part of a large group that is in advanced procedures to immigrate to Israel.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister instructed the Administration for Village Affairs in the Ministry to start planning and developing the settlement, as well as promoting the granting of permissions from the administrative authority to the settlement division for marketing the settlement.
