Cameron outruns Cameron.
Avatar: The Water Route surpassed Titanic at the international box office with an estimated $1.538 billion, compared to $1.535 billion for the 1997 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
This makes it the number 3 film of all time overseas, behind the original 2009 Avatar in first with over 2.138 billion and Avengers: Endgame in second with 1.941 million.
However, the old Titanic will still go to sea, back in theaters from February 9 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary in a remastered version and therefore the rankings could change again.
