(ANSA) - ROME, 07 FEB - While the work of the rescuers continues during the night, the provisional death toll of the victims of the violent earthquake that hit Turkey on the border with Syria has exceeded 3,800, also razing thousands of buildings to the ground.
At least 1,444 people have died on Syrian territory, the government and local emergency services said.
The new toll brings the total number of deaths in both countries to at least 3,823, after Turkey also revised its toll to 2,379.
Nearly 14,500 people were injured and 4,900 buildings razed, Ankara announced.
