Gili Yuval ("And this slave is me") launched a crowdfunding campaign for her new book, "Beit Shani", which deals with experiences from the world of work • "I was surprised to find out that we all face the same things," she says

Gili Yuval, known as "the poet of the contemporary working world", became famous mainly through her poems that appeared on the Facebook page "And this slave is me".

After that, she published her book "This Time with the File", and recently opened the start for crowdfunding to publish her next book, "Beit Shani".

"I also published my previous book this way, and it was a success. I dealt with the routine of the new working day, and collected small, funny and cynical moments," she says.

What will be in the new book?

"Songs and comics about the world of work we live in today. Most of the songs deal with what happens to people during their careers - looking for a job, adapting to a new workplace and office norms, for example who decides what the temperature in the room will be. I also deal with things that happen after work hours, and how they They affect relationships, self-worth, etc. It's a never-ending circle. Each song in the book is accompanied by a comic by Hila Noam, an award-winning and witty illustrator, edited by Sharon Kantor."

In the songs, you dare to say what most people think but don't say.

"I get told this a lot, and it surprises me. For me, it was a place to vent frustration, and I was sure I was the only one dealing with these things - that she doesn't do well in job interviews, that it bothers her that credit is taken for the things she does, that she gets upset when she is asked in a job interview if she has Children, and more. Then I realized that it had an audience, and that it was a two-way connection. That's where I gathered the courage to write about other things. There is a song that talks about the generic rejection letters that are sent when you are not accepted for a job. It was very emotional for me. It started as something personal, and developed by listening to what is happening on the ground."

The fundraising campaign for the book "Beit Shani" will end this Thursday.
