The week started with
oppressive heat both in the city of Buenos Aires and in eight other provinces
, for which the National Meteorological Service (SMN) launched a yellow alert for extreme temperatures.
A large part of Mendoza, Buenos Aires, La Pampa and San Luis are under this alert on Monday
with expected maximums that will range from 35 degrees
, reported the SMN.
The same warning
applies to the city of Buenos Aires, the south of Santa Fe, various towns in San Juan and Córdoba
, various areas of Neuquén, especially the Andean area, and the departments of Gualeguay and Victoria, in Entre Ríos, according to to the weather forecast.
The yellow alert indicates that the expected temperatures may have a mild to moderate effect on people's health, but
may be dangerous in the case of risk groups, such as children,
people over 65, with chronic diseases.

According to the SMN,
the yellow alert applies to the entire Mendoza territory and to most of the towns in Buenos Aires
, including La Plata where a maximum of 33 degrees is expected, but it does not affect the Atlantic coast of the province.
In La Pampa, the warning for extreme temperatures covers almost the entire district, where highs of between 35 and 36 degrees are expected, while in Santa Fe it affects Rosario and surroundings and the towns of Caseros and General López.
In Córdoba, the alert covers the districts of General Roca and Presidente Roque Sáenz Peña, in the south, and the mountain area in the west;
while in San Juan it extends through the Calingasta mountain range and several areas of the center-south of the province.
In San Luis, finally, high temperatures are expected in almost the entire territory and a maximum of 35 degrees for the capital.
