Fans of the beloved serial killer, he agreed: three daughter series of "Dexter" on fire | Israel today

The Showtime network returns viewers to the world of Dexter Morgan, after the mini-series "Dexter: New Blood" aired in 2021 • Here is everything we know about the three intriguing projects

The trend of pawns/reboots/prequels/spin-offs (did we forget something?) for iconic TV series continues even stronger, and the latest report from Hollywood deals with no less than three new and intriguing projects related to the world of serial killer Dexter Morgan.

• On the knees of nostalgia: "Dexter: New Blood" does not renew anything

• After 7 years: HBO in a happy surprise for "True Blood" fans

• HBO celebrates 50: a parade of the greatest series of all time

The disappointing news: the actor Michael C. Hall (some of us also remember him from his role as David Fisher in the HBO masterpiece series "Deep in the Ground"), who played the vengeful blood pattern researcher/serial killer in the original series "Dexter" - which aired with great success between 2006 and 2013 and in the miniseries " Dexter: New Blood" from 2021 - is not expected to be involved in any of the productions.

Be that as it may, the first project that has already been officially commissioned by Showtime and is in the early stages of development is "Dexter: New Origins" - a prequel series that will give a glimpse into the life of Dexter Morgan as a young man who just joined the Miami Police Department, in the days when Harry was still alive and his stepsister Deb was girl.

The second project, defined by the people of the channel as a new version of "Dexter: New Blood" is a spin-off that will focus on Dexter's son, Harrison, who fled to New York after what happened in the mini-series;

And the third project is a spin-off/prequel of the original series, which will specifically deal with the background story of Arthur Mitchell - "The Trinity Killer", fondly remembered from the fourth season of "Dexter" (played at the time by John Lithgow).

Producer Clyde Phillips, who was responsible for the first four seasons of "Dexter", will take over the reins on the three new series, but it is important to clarify that only the first series (the prequel about young Dexter) has currently received the green light, while the other two productions are still awaiting approval.

It was also reported that Showtime is working, at least on paper, on no less than four new spin-offs for "Billions" - another hit series of the channel.

Among the projects mentioned, we can name a series that will take place in Miami, and another series that will move the plot to London.
