Brian May, the legendary guitarist for Queen, recently addressed a dilemma facing many fans of the beloved British band: should May, drummer Roger Taylor and singer Adam Lambert - who is filling in for the late frontman Freddie Mercury on the current Queen tours - record a studio album With new songs?

In an interview he gave to Total Guitar magazine, the 75-year-old May disappointed/reassured (depending on your position on the matter) the fans and announced that although the three musicians did meet several times in the recording studio and created some sketches of songs together, a new album by Queen with Lambert behind the microphone

The reason: May and Taylor's loyalty to Mercury - and also to most of the fans, who will probably not like the idea and even see such an album as a kind of blasphemy.
"Yes, we went into the studio during one of our tours and played around with some musical ideas, but they didn't feel right to us so we decided to drop it," the guitarist explained to the magazine.

May added: "I think there's a barrier here. I think if people see the name 'Queen' on an album cover, they'll still want to hear Freddie sing. Even if it's Jesus (as a singer), they'll still want Freddie, and I don't blame them."
But the album was full.
May went on to claim that there are fans who are unhappy that Queen continues to exist without the late singer even in live performances.
"People on Instagram get mad at me and ask what right we have to perform without Freddie. I answer them 'don't tell me what to do, I do what I think is right!'", he concluded decisively.

Freddie Mercury passed away in November 1991, at the age of only 45, due to complications from AIDS.
He and Kevin recorded 15 studio albums together and blessed the world with many hits and timeless rock anthems, including "Bohemian Raphsody" and "We Will Rock You".
