Manchester City have been referred to an independent Commission by the Premier League over alleged breaches of financial fair play rules.
This was announced by the English top flight.
The team risks expulsion from the top British championship.
The reigning English champions are alleged to have breached league rules which require the provision "in the utmost good faith" of "accurate financial information, which gives a true and fair view of the club's financial position".
There are over 100 charges for financial crimes against Manchester City and could lead, if convicted, to the exclusion
of the reigning champions from the Premier League.
City are accused of multiple infractions, from the failure to transparently disclose salary costs to non-compliance with UEFA fair play and the violation of profit and sustainability rules.
If the independent commission called to judge finds him guilty, the club risks from a heavy fine to a penalty up to exclusion from the Premier League.
Hypothesis, the latter, at the moment remote but, writes the BBC, cannot be excluded.
