(ANSA) - MOSCOW, 07 FEB - The ban imposed by the EU on Russian media judged instruments of Russian propaganda recalls what the Third Reich did, when "books by 300 authors were banned".
This was stated by the spokeswoman for the Moscow Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, criticizing Josep Borrell, who, opening today the European conference on disinformation, motivated the restrictions with the need to "protect freedom of expression".
Even the Nazis justified the prohibitions with the need for protection, adds the spokeswoman, stating that "everything began with the prohibitions, with the burning of books, and ended with the burning of bodies".
