(ANSA) - ROME, 07 FEB - The first satellite images of the areas most affected by the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria yesterday have been acquired and will be available in a few hours, after the processing activities.
They relate to 20 areas of interest, i.e. many of the main towns affected by the earthquake.
The Italian company Egeos, which has been coordinating the European Copernicus Rapid Mapping service since 2012, designed to quickly make satellite images available in the event of disasters or emergencies, announced that the satellites are acquiring the first images right now, but their quality is affected by the uncertainty of the conditions weather forecast.
