Turkey-Syria earthquake: WHO, 23 million people affected

Up to 23 million people could be affected by the massive earthquake that killed thousands in Turkey and Syria, the World Health Organization (WHO) said today. (HANDLE)


(ANSA) - GENEVA, 07 FEB - Up to 23 million people could be affected by the violent earthquake that killed thousands of people in Turkey and Syria, the World Health Organization (WHO) said today.

"Overall maps of the event show that potentially 23 million people are exposed, including around five million vulnerable people," WHO emergencies manager Adelheid Marschang told the UN health agency's executive committee.
