Confrontation between climate activists and drivers in Berlin

After attacks on climate activists at a protest by the "last generation", the Berlin police are investigating several unknown persons.
The basis are scenes in videos that can be seen on the Internet, said a police spokeswoman.
It is being investigated on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm, coercion and violation of the Freedom of Assembly Act.
The RBB had previously reported.
Demonstrators from the “Last Generation” climate protection group blocked traffic again in several places in Berlin on Monday.
According to recordings, some drivers reacted aggressively.
Investigations against unknown
Recordings show how blockers on Messedamm are insulted, pushed or dragged off the street.

The police had not been on site at that time, the spokeswoman said.
The authority is obliged to investigate on its own as soon as it learns of such incidents.
The investigation has so far been directed against unknown persons.
Police say they have not filed a criminal complaint about any of the incidents.
The Berlin public prosecutor's office is now running some investigations into such cases over the past year.
A spokesman for the authorities said that the demonstrators had never reported them as victims.
There were 2,700 reports against the blockers in Berlin by January, and the police were aware of 770 suspects.
By mid-January, 1,185 cases had reached the public prosecutor's office.
The group itself called the number of 1,250 roadblocks across Germany.
