(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 08 - The month of January 2023 was the third hottest in history in Europe, after those of 2020 and 2007. This was announced by the European Union's Earth observation service, Copernicus.
Antarctic sea ice extent was 31% below average, trailing behind the January lows recorded by satellites, well below the previous record set in January 2017.
Arctic sea ice extent was 4% below average, ranking third in January's satellite data.
