It all starts with the death of a billionaire in his prison cell in August 2019. The whirlwind of the Jeffrey Epstein case, this businessman accused of having sexually assaulted young underage girls, took in its path the Prince Andrew, and precipitated the fall of the latter.
The ex-duke of York is indeed accused by a woman named Virginia Giuffre of having raped her when she was 17 years old, and this, through Jeffrey Epstein.
Since then, the father of princesses Beatrice and Eugenie has had his military affiliations and royal patronage withdrawn in January 2022.

The “scoop of the decade”
And this, despite his attempt to restore his image by giving an interview to the BBC's "Newsnight" program in mid-November 2019. At the time, this exchange between journalist Emily Maitlis and Prince Andrew had been deemed "catastrophic" by the Anglo-Saxon press.
The interview sparked so many outraged reactions that it inspired Netflix to make a feature film on the subject.
The platform has indeed announced, on Tuesday, January 7, that a film on this eventful interview was in preparation.
A program directed by Philip Martin (
The Crown
) and entitled
Scoop
, in which Gillian Anderson (

The making of the film, which will chronicle the "journey of the women who broke down the barriers of Buckingham Palace to get the scoop that led to the catastrophic downfall of the Queen's 'favorite son'."

Power and privileges
For his part, the director said in a press release that it will be a “paced, immersive and cinematic” feature film.
He thus intends to “plunge the public back into the heart of this breathtaking series of events which led to the interview with Prince Andrew – to tell a story about the search for answers, in a world of speculation and divergent memories”.
“This is a film about power, privilege, different perspectives and how – in gleaming palaces or modern newsrooms – we judge what is true,” he added.
The opportunity to return to the multiple blunders made by Prince Andrew during the 2019 interview. Denying the accusations of sexual abuse brought against him, the latter then returned to his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
An evening in a nightclub
He had in particular underlined how much the latter had opened doors for him.
"The people I met, whether through him or because of him, were really very helpful," said the former duke.
If he had expressed his regrets about his collaboration with Jeffrey Epstein, he had, moreover, assured that he had “no memory of having met” his accuser Virginia Giuffre.
He had also denied having sexually assaulted her, or even having danced with her in a nightclub, assuring that he could not have sweated that evening (as she told).
He thus declared to suffer from a medical condition because of which it is impossible for him to sweat.
A defense that had not convinced the alleged victims of Jeffrey Epstein, to whom he also made no apologies.
