The waterfalls and streams that flow these days did not pass over the Green Binyamin region, where there is also one special waterfall - the Rashash waterfall - which is located about two kilometers east of the village of Kida and falls towards the Jordan Valley.

But what is special about the Rashash waterfall? Well, the fact that it is probably the only waterfall in the country where you You are inside a cave and the water slides over you - a spectacular sight recorded by the field staff of Benjamin Tourism.

The line between the blowing Carmel and the brown desert

Nahal Rashash is one of the tributaries that reach the Fetzel Springs in the Jordan Valley.

"The stream is a canyon because it is between the mountains and the valley, and this is the fault line between the mountain and the valley," explains Moshe Rontsky, director of tourism in Binyamin.

"In this line you see the difference between the green and the desert."

Indeed, the beautiful photographs recorded yesterday (Tuesday) clearly show the line between the windy and green Carmel and the brown desert.

According to Rontsky, the drainage basin of Nahal Rashash is quite small, so it is necessary to make sure that it rains in the Kida area and the ridge line of Mount Kida, which is east of Shiloh, so that the stream will flow.

Also, about 300 meters above the waterfall there is a spring hidden inside a cave called Ein Rashash.

"The temperature of the water is relatively lukewarm all year round," he explains.

How to get there?

The waterfall can be reached in two ways.

From the settlement of Kida, go to Alon Road (No. 458) and from there, after half a kilometer, there is a right turn onto a road marked in red. Continue along the red road a little further and turn right until the end of the road, and from there start walking east with the markings and downhill. For those who want to walk, and its length is about 8 km.

However, the shorter way is to drive on a road that turns east from Derech Alon (south of Kida) towards the ruins of Givait and reach the "Angels of Peace" farm - a sheep and cattle farm - where you can leave the car and go in to drink coffee, and from there walk on the green path for about two kilometers to the waterfall

P.S.

If you got wet in

the rain in the field, you can treat yourself to a hot coffee at "Cafe Merlot" in Shiloh, at the ancient Shiloh site or at Givat Winery.
