SNCF responsible for the cancellation of Beyoncé's second concert at the Stade de France?

2023-02-08T18:08:36.888Z

Live Nation, which produces the star's concert on May 26 at the Stade de France, said it could not organize a second date there due to work carried out by the SNCF on the northern section of the RER B.

Is Beyoncé's tour derailing in France, a few days after its launch?

The question naturally arises for the fans who have jostled on the reservation sites, in the hope of buying - at full price - a place.

Either in Paris on May 26 or in Marseille on June 11.

Two dates, all in all, with prices ranging from 79.60 euros to 200 euros for single tickets, up to 3000 euros for VIP packs.

The accident was foreseeable.

In less than an hour, both stadiums were already full.

Faced with the anger of the fans, left on their hunger, who is to blame?

The organizers don't cut corners: if the American star hasn't scheduled a second date in Paris - even though she will give eight concerts in Great Britain, including five in London -, the fault lies... with the SNCF.

At least that's the somewhat surprising line of defense chosen by the company that manages Beyoncé's tour, Live Nation.

“We could not do two stages in France with Beyoncé because of the SNCF works on Saturday,”

explains Angelo Gopee, the general manager of the French branch of the group, to

Parisian

.

Indeed, the work on line B of the RER, which serves the Stade de France, planned between January and May,

"Require to interrupt the circulation of trains, during the day, in the evening and during certain weekends"

, explains the SNCF.

On Twitter, the Île-de-France Mobilités network defended itself, saying that this work has been

“planned for more than 2 years”

and

“essential to make the network more reliable”

.

Valérie Pécresse adds, recalling that the dates of the works have been known for more than two years and that "

all the professionals know it"

.

"If Beyoncé's producer made a mistake and put tickets on sale on a date that was strictly impossible, it's his fault"

continues the president of the region in a video posted on his Tiktok account, Wednesday, January 8 .

Organizational concerns on the side of the producers or works of the SNCF, it does not matter, Beyoncé will indeed be at the Stade de France for a single and unique date, Friday May 26.
