These are the goals that Nazanin, a young Afghan woman who fled the Taliban regime in the summer of 2021, managed to achieve thanks to the integration program for Afghan women of
the Pangea Onlus Foundation supported by the Deloitte Foundation.
This is the story of a woman who, like many others, managed to have a second chance thanks to this program and which Deloitte wanted to tell in a video documentary entitled
"The story of Nazanin".
"Thanks to the collaboration with Pangea we have created a safe space to welcome Afghan refugees and their families in Italy" said
the president of the Deloitte Foundation, Guido Borsani,
in a statement .
The Deloitte Foundation, it is explained, provides support to Pangea to build cultural integration and job placement programs that help women become independent.
"A collaboration that has grown over the years and which responds to two of the founding objectives of the Deloitte Foundation: intervention in response to emergencies and the commitment to support education in Italy and in the world", explains Borsani again.
A documentary was born from the story where the story of Nazanin is told.
The reconquest of power by the Taliban in the summer of 2021 was a dramatic event
that triggered a very serious humanitarian crisis, following which, according to the UNHCR, over 2.9 million Afghans fled their country.
Among these is Nazanin, who, thanks to the help of Pangea, arrived in Italy in August 2021.
Here Nazanin faced many challenges.
The transition to her life in Italy was challenging and she - as she tells in the video - she initially felt isolated, like many other refugees.
But thanks to the support offered to promote linguistic, cultural and social integration, she Nazanin was able to rebuild her life in a new community.
