Three young Russian women who are pregnant and who wanted to enter the country as tourists this past Wednesday remain stranded in Ezeiza as
not admitted
by the National Directorate of Migration, which found a series of irregularities on their trip.
All three are advanced in pregnancy, they are alone and one of them is almost in labor.
Another came with her dog, her pet.
The national authorities informed
Clarín
that they
lied when they said they were tourists, they arrived without money and without a return ticket.
Furthermore, it is being investigated whether the three are part of a
network of illegal human trafficking
and irregular obtaining of passports.
The sources did not want to say who is in charge of the investigation, in which raids have already been carried out.
And it is currently focused on Russian citizens who, fleeing the war, come to obtain the Argentine passport and leave.
Furthermore, official sources linked the investigations -although they did not confirm a direct link- with the arrest at the end of January of
two Russians in Slovenia who posed as antiquities dealers
with nationality from South American countries.
One of them had an Argentine passport.
Both were detained in Slovenia on charges of spying for Russia, according to the police in that country.
More than 10,500 Russians arrived in Argentina in the last year
, coinciding with Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukrainian territory on February 24.
But of those 10,500, more than 7,000 left with their Argentine passport ready or pending.
It happens that women and families have been detected who have their baby in Argentina,
they obtain the passport for the newborn quickly and leave a proxy
here to continue processing the national passport for adults.
That is to say, they do not come to live but to obtain the document that allows them to move without resorting to their Russian documentation, today a problem in the context of the war in Ukraine.
Among them there are dissidents of Vladimir Putin and others who are not, but need to obtain other passports due to the sanctions imposed by the United States and Europe on Russia and its citizens.
By the way, Clarín
learned
from diplomatic sources that
the Russian embassy in Buenos Aires is pressuring them to give them their Argentine documentation.
High sources
confided to
Clarín , in strict secrecy, that many arrive with a lot of money, take out their passports and leave.
The three young women held in Ezeiza are not detained, and are being treated for their state of pregnancy, said the national authorities consulted.
The sources smiled when reporting that the dog that one of them had is also being "well cared for".
Two of the girls, who are between the ages of 25 and 35,
arrived on Ethiopian Airlines;
the other in KLM, from Amsterdam.
They were not allowed to enter the country when their documentation was checked at Migration and they were separated.
They tried to deport them but they refused to leave on the flights this Thursday
.
Probably, one has her child in the country, due to the advanced stage of her pregnancy.
The Airlines "should not have let them travel like this," they pointed out here.
And they also complained about the presentation of the case of the phenomenon of Russian women who come here under a look that they called "romantic".
And they added that behind this
"birth tourism"
, "mafias" are also being investigated, which once came to Miami, where due to the war and sanctions now they cannot enter.
Weeks ago, following a report by The Guardian, the media covered Russian women fleeing war and seeking to give their children a second citizenship.
And they choose Argentina to have them because here, whoever is born in the territory is already an Argentine citizen.
