Snow in Hermon/Golan

Let's start with the snow.

The entire northern Golan and of course the Hermon became white as a result of the heavy snow that piled up in the area last week.

The Hermon site will open this weekend to visitors as well as surfers, and this is an opportunity to take the ski suits out of the closet and leave early in the morning to avoid traffic jams at the entrance to the site.

Where to see snow at the level:

Mount Bentel, Kibbutz Alrom and its surroundings, Ein Zivan, all four Druze villages in the Golan (Restaurant, Buketa, Ein Kiniya and Majdal Shams), the Great Juba area and Mount Odem.

Circular travel route:

the great Juba (so in Wise).

A route of about two kilometers around a huge volcanic pit in the center of the Odem Forest Reserve. The huge pit is made of basaltic soil with a depth of about 60 meters and a diameter of about 200 and was created by the explosion of volcanic gases from the ground.

Flowing waterfalls

So much rain fell in the land, that all the waterfalls arose from their summer sleep, and began to abound with much water.

The most beautiful flows you will see in the near future will be in the north of the country, where there are strong waterfalls that are fed as long as there is rain or a stream flowing to them.

So where do you see?

Ait Falls in the Golan, Gamla Falls (the highest in Israel - 51 m), Habanias Falls, of course, which flows all year round, Perod Falls near Kibbutz Shanir in the north of the Hula Valley, Perod Falls in the Upper Galilee (near Deir al-Assad), Basalt Canyon in Nahal Harod, Nahal Ayon Falls ( Four waterfalls in one trip), Sa'ar waterfall in the Golan (how not), Zovitan waterfall, Katzrin waterfall and Deborah waterfall in the Golan.

Everyone can be reached with Wise by the name of the waterfall.

Where else are there flowing waterfalls in Israel?

In the Judean desert, the streams enjoyed a strong flow that created spectacular waterfalls this week.

Some of them will no longer flow on the weekend due to the lack of rain in Hammshush, but if you are in the area, try the Qumran waterfall, the Salvador waterfall, the Tzalim waterfall. The Rashash waterfall in Binyamin also flowed spectacularly this week, as we documented in yesterday's article, and although the flow will weaken by the weekend, The place is simply spectacular for a trip.

river flows

Almost all streams in significant parts of the country are flowing this week, from Nahal Sa'ar in the Golan to streams in the desert.

Here is a collection of flow trips you can do.

Nahal Katzrin:

flows only in the winter months, hidden from view and also includes a waterfall whose waters fall from a height of about ten meters.

The route takes about an hour and a half, round trip.

To get there: at Wise - Nahal Katzrin.

Nahal Harod:

It begins its journey at Givat Hamorah and after 32 km flows into the Jordan, and on the way passes and drains Emek Harod. It is best to see the flow in the basalt canyon in Nahal Harod (so in Wise) and climb the suspension bridge. Please note that the park is under renovation, therefore the entrance to the bridge The hanging is near the large parking lot - 100 m after the pedestrian entrance.

Nahal HaBanias:

What has already been said about the undisputed "king" of the flow trips.

Nahal Hermon, also known as Banias, flows all year round but these days it is simply overflowing and excited by all the water it receives.

In the reserve (for a fee) there is a return route to the hanging bridge and the waterfall (3 km), and a longer route (6 km).

Nahal Sa'ar:

We all know its waterfall, but the water of Mafal Sa'ar flows earlier on a lovely 3 km (one-way) hiking trail from the friendship bridge in Ein Kiniya, where you walk on a green and blooming

trail

. Beautiful this week, and the Euphrates River was very flooded. Even one of its springs, Ein Maboa, overflowed. The Euphrates River Reserve has a variety of trails of different lengths, so when you arrive at the reserve, consult the local inspector. In Wise: the Euphrates River Nature Reserve."

Nahal Shiloh:

It is one of the tributaries of the Yarkon, but Nahal Shilo which flows in Samaria offers a beautiful view these days to the horseshoe of Nahal Shilo which is full of water.

The entire length of the route is marked in red - about 4 km from the gate of the town of Paduel (so in Wise) downhill to the junction with road 446. One-way, for walkers.

Nahal Shakma:

It is considered to mark the border between the Lowlands and the Negev, and it even has a trail named after it - The sycamore stream that flows into the sea in the Zikim area, flows these days and is accompanied by beautiful blossoms and green wheat fields on its banks. You can walk along it, pedal and even drive along the landscape road (60 km).

We would recommend the section from Morot Pura to Tel Najila, which is bursting with flowers, has the remains of an old Ottoman railway bridge and also a route of the Israel Trail.

About 5 km circular.

hidden and unknown.
