"The woman
had numerous fractures, she had many serious injuries
. She had undergone surgery, but the polytrauma with which she arrived at the hospital were very serious. The impact had been very violent, so the injuries that Rachel, 38, had, they were very important, not just a hip fracture," remarked the deputy director of the Dr. Ramón Carrillo Hospital in San Martín de los Andes, Juan Cabrera.
Rachel's partner, also English and 38 years old, is still hospitalized.
"He
is still in intensive care, with a reserved prognosis
. Several surgeries have already been performed on him and he is still in a serious condition," said the deputy director of the hospital.
"We have worked a lot with the relatives, in the containment, with the authorities of the embassy in our country, carrying out each administrative procedure, but above all human, in the midst of all this process. The family continues here in the city waiting for the improvement of the patient who continues to be hospitalized in our hospital", added Cabrera.

The bus was heading from Villa La Angostura to San Martín.
The woman, with more serious injuries, was the first to be transferred, while her partner had chest and shoulder pain.

At the turn of the fortnight, in the area of Punta Mogotes, Mar del Plata, a young woman who was riding a bicycle was hit by a garbage truck and died.
The 22-year-old, a native of the Buenos Aires town of Sarandí (Avellaneda), was in the coastal city enjoying the weekend.
The tragic episode occurred on Avenida de los Trabajadores and Carriego streets, and the victim was crushed to death on the spot after being hit by the collection vehicle as she was crossing the street on a bicycle.
The truck with which the victim was run over in Mar del Plata belonged to the Ciageser company.

While the causes are being investigated, it emerged that the young woman would have lost her balance due to a pothole and, after falling, the large vehicle could not avoid her.

According to reports, the driver who was driving the collection vehicle is 31 years old and works for the Ciageser company.
In the case, he was preliminarily charged with "culpable homicide" and was made available to the Justice.
