Apple will launch its first Watch Ultra watch featuring a next-generation display, known as micro-LED.
This was stated by the analyst of the sector, Ross Young, according to which, however, we should wait until 2025 to see the technology on board the Apple smartwatch.
Micro-LED is an emerging technology on which display manufacturers are working to perfect the rendering of details even on very small panels, such as those of a connected watch.
Young previously hinted at the 2025 January timeline, but says new information from Apple supplier Osram confirms the timeline.
Further confirmation in favor of the timing comes from Osram, a German company among the possible suppliers of the screens for the Apple Watch.
In a recent meeting with investors,
the company, as reported by Ross himself, would have said: "With respect to our development and industrialization program for our leading technology of small microLEDs, based on the latest available information and the related evaluation, we can add that at the moment we plan to start reporting significant revenues from our micro-led technology in 2025".
Several sources have confirmed that Apple is already working on a micro-led Apple Watch, as analyst Jeff Pu said, although a 2024 launch seems unlikely. first availability of the gadget in early 2025. Young did not provide details on the size of the display, but previous information suggests that it will measure 2.1 inches diagonally,
which would make it appropriate for the larger Apple Watch Ultra.
