(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 10 - The summit of EU leaders closed late at night, reaching an agreement on migrants and economic dossiers: more attention to border control and protection on the one hand, flexibility on the use of existing funds from on the one hand but faster and more extensive state aid on the other.
On the other hand, there has been a slowdown on sending war planes to Ukraine, as requested by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, who flew to Brussels for the occasion.
"It is impossible to deliver aircraft to Ukraine anytime soon," explained Emmanuel Macron.
New clash between Macron and Giorgia Meloni.
The premier will hold a press conference in the morning and perhaps return to the subject.
Macron, questioned by reporters, said that "there was no bilateral agreement with Meloni, but we did meet. I always respect people and their choices, it's a matter of principle".
"I am very satisfied with the European Council", underlined President Meloni as she left the Europa Building.
