A new chapter in his life has brought him to Brescia where Mario Moretti, a leading figure in the Red Brigades and responsible for the kidnapping and murder of Aldo Moro, has been living for some time

.

Sentenced to six life sentences, in semi-freedom since 1997, according to documents that the Giornale di Brescia has made public, the former BR spent New Year's Eve and the first days of January in an apartment that he made his domicile in the city.

His name is still written on the intercom of an apartment in an old building, essential for the forces of order who, between 10 pm and seven in the morning, when he was obliged to stay at home, went to check the prisoner was actually present.

Moretti, 77, is associated with the Verziano prison and from 4 January he must comply with the prescriptions signed by the Da

p on the basis of the treatment plan approved by the supervisory magistrate of Brescia on 23 December last.

Moretti leaves prison in the morning to return no later than 10pm, can move around in a car that is registered to his partner and "has freedom of movement in the province of Brescia

, the possibility of going to the municipality of Milan for work needs or to visit family."

Since the beginning of the year, the former Red Brigade member,

who has never repented and never dissociated himself from the armed struggle and who in 1993 declared that he was the material executor of the murder of the president of the DC,

he carries out voluntary work for an association in Brescia in smart working mode

at his home for three days a week, while for another two days he is authorized to go to the headquarters of an RSA in the city.

Again the of him is paperwork.

He is prohibited from receiving money for the activities he carries out as a volunteer and cannot even interrupt the course.

And again as a voluntary member, he occasionally collaborates with a cooperative in Milan and provides IT assistance to a law firm in Milan, also in this case.

Before Moretti in Brescia, in the past, the former Brenta boss Felice Maniero had also tried to restart.

With a new identity he had gone to live in a neighborhood north of the city with his daughter and his historic partner and had also started a company that dealt with water purification, which then went bankrupt.

Maniero's Brescian experience ended in October 2019 when he was arrested for ill-treatment of his partner.

That cost him a four-year prison sentence.
