Linkin Park is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its
Meteora
album .
For the occasion, the band announced the release of
Lost
, “
an unreleased song from the
Meteora archives
”.
Available on all platforms on Friday, the track allows you to hear the voice of the late Chester Bennington, the singer of the group, who died tragically in 2017.
Upon release, in March 2003, the band's second album shot to No. 1 on the
Billboard chart
, reflecting the success of the top charting tracks in the United States each week.
Meteora
, now considered one of the greatest alternative music albums in history, has sold over 27 million copies worldwide.
Among the 13 titles of the opus, there are hits exceeding one billion plays on Spotify such as
Numb
and
In the End.
Still to celebrate the 20th anniversary of
Meteora
, Linkin Park plans to unveil, on April 7,
Meteora 20
, a special reissue available in several editions, including a deluxe box set revealing unreleased concert lives.
Still on hiatus
But the release of a new song and the reissue of
Meteora
do not sound the return of the group for all that.
Since Chester Bennington killed himself by hanging in July 2017, Linkin Park has been on hiatus.
Their last concert, given at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, dates back to October 2017. The rock band had paid tribute to its singer by organizing an event concert, the
Linkin Park and Friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington
