In one of the last Ethiopian Airlines flights this Thursday night, almost early Friday morning,
33 young pregnant Russian women arrived at the Ezeiza airport.
They are between 20 and 35 years old.
Three of them were not allowed to enter the country due to
irregularities in their documentation
, so
there are already six Russian and pregnant girls who are stranded in Ezeiza.
All presented
habeas corpus
and even ask for refuge.
They are even with consular assistance from the Russian embassy in Buenos Aires, according to what this newspaper learned.
Although the number of 33 in a single night is really important, the authorities of the National Directorate of Migrations are no longer surprised because, under the argument that they come to do tourism in Argentina, the number of girls alone and with families of Russian origin, and some Ukrainians, who have been arriving in the country for a few months,
it is estimated between 30 or 50 per day.
And as
Clarín
anticipated this Thursday, it is being investigated whether they are part of a
network of illegal human trafficking and obtaining passports
irregularly.
The sources did not want to say who is in charge of the investigation, in which raids have already been carried out.
And it is currently focused on Russian citizens who, fleeing the war,
come to obtain the Argentine passport and leave.
For that matter, it is an appetizing documentation.
Last year,
the Argentine passport was in 19th place
, together with the Brazilian, among those that
grant the most freedom to travel around the world.
With this passport you can travel without a visa to 170 countries in the world.
The case of pregnant girls from Russia who come to Argentina to have their baby has a human and dramatic side because it increased notably due to the war in Ukraine, which is now going to be one year old.
Vladimir Putin
's troops
invaded that territory on February 24.
And since then some 10,500 Russians have arrived in the country, according to migration authorities, but 7,000 of them have already left.
That gave the indication that they come for the passport.
